  • World Dairy Expo Cattle Show Entries Open

    Entries for the Dairy Cattle Show at the 59th World Dairy Expo in Madison, Wisc. are now being accepted exclusively online at worlddairyexpo.com. The entry deadline is Aug. 31, at 11:59 p.m. (CST). Late entries will be accepted, but at an increased fee.

    The Dairy Cattle Show will run Sept. 27 through Oct. 2. Entry information, the schedule of events, rules and other updates can be found in the premium book, available online at worlddairyexpo.com. Exhibitors may request a mailed copy of the premium book by contacting Dairy Systems Manager Laurie Breuch at lbreuch@wdexpo.com, or Lexa Miller, Dairy Cattle & Contests Coordinator, at lmiller@wdexpo.com.

    World Dairy Expo continues to monitor Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (H5N1) and all other health concerns impacting dairy cattle. While H5N1 testing has been rescinded for animals in those states that have Unaffected State Status under the USDA National Milk Testing Strategy surveillance, the required test for HPAI/H5N1 is an Influenza A PCR test for lactating cattle from states with Affected or Provisional Unaffected State Status. World Dairy Expo also requires animals being transported with animals from affected or provisional unaffected states to be tested. Please reference testing timelines in the health regulations and with your state animal health official prior to departure for the show. WDE will share new information and directives as provided.

    The Dairy Cattle Show will begin with the International Junior Holstein Show cow classes and International Milking Shorthorn Show heifer classes at 10:00 a.m. on Sept. 27.   • National FFA Partners with World Dairy Expo

    The National FFA Organization has endorsed and will promote World Dairy Expo’s 2026 FFA Dairy Judging Contest to its national membership. This collaboration aims to expand opportunities for leadership, hands-on learning and connections within agricultural education.

    The National FFA Organization is a school-based national youth leadership development organization of more than 1 million student members as part of 9,407 local FFA chapters in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

    In 2025, more than 100 schools from across the United States participated in the FFA Dairy Cattle Judging Contest at World Dairy Expo, underscoring the enthusiasm and commitment of FFA members nationwide.

    “Historically, this contest has drawn strong participation from Midwest chapters, along with dedicated teams traveling from as far as California, Kentucky, Missouri, Ohio and Texas,” said Lexa Miller, Cattle Show and Contests Coordinator for World Dairy Expo. “This partnership will encourage even more chapters to make the trip to Madison and further strengthen an already outstanding competition and educational experience.”

    The 2026 FFA Dairy Cattle Judging Contest will take place on Tuesday, September 29, in Madison. FFA chapters across the country are encouraged to learn more by visiting the “Contests” section atworlddairyexpo.com. Registration opens July 13, 2026 and closes September 11, 2026.

    “This initiative reflects a shared commitment to developing the next generation of agricultural leaders—individuals who will make a lasting impact on their communities and the world,” said Christine White, Chief Program Officer for the National FFA Organization. “World Dairy Expo offers an unmatched opportunity for young leaders to connect with the dairy industry at its highest level and be part of an event that defines excellence in dairy cattle evaluation.   • Cali (of Kerman, CA) Re-crowned as Grand Champion of the International Brown Swiss Show at World Dairy Expo

    Iroquois Acres Jong Cali brings home Senior and Grand Champion of the International Brown Swiss Show. Cali, the winning Component Merit Cow, is exhibited Brian Pacheco of Kerman, Calif., and received the Allen Hetts Grand Champion Trophy and Vid Vye Memorial Trophy. Following her as the Reserve Grand Champion is the Reserve Senior Champion and winning Six-Year-Old & Over Cow, Robland Norwin Bermuda-ET, exhibited by Tony Kohls and Goldfawn Farm, Arlington, Minn.

    Intermediate Champion went to the Junior Three-Year-Old cow, Jenlar Fc Whipsaw-ETV, owned by Iroquois Acres, Bridport, Vt. Whipsaw earned the Eugene Nelson Intermediate Champion Award. The second prize Junior Three-Year-Old, Fairdale Kickstart Figgy, was named Reserved Intermediate Champion. She is owned by Kylie and Micah Sparrow of Stamping Grounds, Ky.

    The Intermediate Champion of the International Brown Swiss Show, Jenlar Fc Whipsaw-ETV, is owned by Iroquois Acres, Bridport, Vt. Fairdale Kickstart Figgy was Reserve Intermediate Champion and exhibited by Kylie and Micah Sparrow of Stamping Ground, Ky.

    In the heifer show, Junior Champion honors went to the winning Fall Calf, Blessing Garbro Pistachio-ETV, owned by Logan & Chloe Duckett and Peter Vail of Rudolph, Wis. The Reserve Junior Champion was the second place Fall Calf, Jenlar Acclaimed Waikiki-ETV, exhibited by Brianna and Abby Meyer of Chilton, Wis.

    The Premier Breeder banner went home with Jenlar Holsteins and Brown Swiss from Chilton, Wis., while Pit-Crew Genetics of Cambridge, MN is named Premier Exhibitor. The Premier Sire of the show is Hilltop Acres Daredevil-ET

    Official judge Allyn Paulson of Rockford, Ill., along with his associate Brian Olbrich of Harvard, Ill., were charged with placing 384 head of Brown Swiss in the International Brown Swiss Show.
