The American Beekeeping Federation is proud to announce that Emilia Burnham was selected as the 2025 American Honey Princess at the American Beekeeping Federation Conference and Tradeshow in Reno, Nevada. Emilia is the daughter of John and Pavlina Burnham of Murrieta, California. She is a master’s student at the University of California, Riverside, where she is majoring in entomology. Her studies focus on the honeybee microscopic fungal parasite Nosema ceranae. Emilia is a fourth-generation beekeeper and has a strong interest in honeybee products and their benefits to mankind. In her free time, she enjoys crocheting, ballroom dancing, baking, and spending time with loved ones.
Prior to being selected as the American Honey Princess, Emilia served as the 2024 California Honey Queen. In this role, she promoted the honey industry in a wide range of venues, including educational presentations and community events.
As the American Honey Princess, Emilia will spend the next year promoting the beekeeping industry throughout the United States in a wide variety of venues, including fairs, festivals, schools, media interviews, and virtual presentations.
